Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk-rock and alternative rock although it also has influence from hip music and jazz. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement, and was among the pioneers to establish her own record label in 1990. DiFranco born on 23 September 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother hails from Montreal and her father is of Italian heritage. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. The song was featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in 1995. A version of the song can be heard in the 1999 Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. In 2013, DiFranco apologised after it was revealed that she would be hosting an event for three days at a former Louisiana plantation for slaves. It was cancelled however many (including this paper) didn't detect remorse. DiFranco apologized a couple of days later. While she's been referred to by the name of Little Folksinger her music spans many kinds of genres and collaborates across the spectrum from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. New Orleans is her home. Ani diFranco as well as Kristen Ford are together. She started writing songs when she was 14 years old. The teens she was in were playing them in pubs as well as coffee shops. DiFranco started taking lessons in Buffalo State College at age 16, after she graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. The 1972 pop-rock song Brandy (You're a fine girl) was written by the American group Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song.
