Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Both her parents were both English. Her family was on the south London Council Estate, and then attended The Brit School aged 14. She earned her BA in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. At school, she was a part-time actor in numerous stage plays, including King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career through the film Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe scored her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she appeared as Elisha in the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. The year 2008 saw her had the opportunity to play the part as Bambi on the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in three and two series. Madekwe made an appearance in the comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe debuted in the US by presenting The Beautiful Life. The drama series was telecast in the US on The CW for only two episodes before being ended. The actress was selected in February 2011, as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. After appearing on the show for the first two seasons the show was announced late May 2013 that Madekwe would leave the show after an appearance as a guest in the pilot episode in the season's third. From 2014 until 2016, she starred in Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe was married to her long-time partner, Iddo. Both of them have been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. She joined her parents, Roy and Patty along with her older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's four brothers, each of them extremely active, took part in hockey in the winters and baseball in the summer, so they grew up mostly in baseball and arenas. Ashley did not walk, but she danced, so when she was two and a half she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley fell in love with dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley was a competitor in ballet, tap and jazz at the top divisions. Top soloists at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
