Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August 1995 in London, the United Kingdom. Her debut self-titled album debuted in 2017 following her been signed by Warner Bros Records. It climbed to the third spot in the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released and included Be the Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). It also peaked to number 6 on the charts in the United States. Lipa received the Brit Award in 2018 as a British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. Dua Lipa was born London on the 22nd of August, 1995. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Dua Lipa is Bosnian origin through her maternal grandmother. Her ancestors can also be traced back to the Kosovo cities of Peja. The grandparents of Lipa's grandfathers were both history professors. Gjin and Rina are her sisters. Lipa was heavily influenced by her father, who is the principal guitarist and singer for The Kosovan band Oda. When she was at the house, her father would perform his original compositions along with songs of David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started singing around the age of five. When she was nine years old, she began singing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang in the song If I'm Not gone You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records a contract in the year 2014. Her debut song New Love was released on August 15th, 2015.
